Good morning everybody!
Last Tuesday, we studied how craftwork was in medieval cities and what guilds were. 
Today, we are going to study everything about trade. You can read about it in your textbook, in pages 128 and 129
As we have studied, trade reappeared between the 11th and 12th century thanks to the cities. In these towns and cities, there were weekly markets in which peasants could sell their products and people could buy everything they needed in their daily lives.
However, in some cities, they had also trade fairs. These were annual markets were merchants from every part of the world could sell their products. Some cities became very famous thanks to these fairs, such as Medina del Campo or Valladolid. They sold luxury products that were not used to be sold in the weekly markets. 
The development of trade brought with the emergence of new professions such as the money changer (the historical background of the banks). Bankers also lent money to the marchants in exchange for interests, sent sums of money from purchases and sales to other places, etc.

Foreign trade developed a lot, especially sale trade. This was favoured thanks to: the compass, the astrolabe or the use of ships that could carry more cargo and sail faster. The main European trading areas were:
